The top online dating services: FriendFinder
FriendFinder is so-so. Definitely worth a visit,
if you want to quickly search personals to see who's on. But the site
requires registration just for the right to see profiles, and does not
give much in return.
As online dating services go, Friendfinder is
a little behind-the times, not utilizing any of the newest matchmaking
technologies you can find at the better sites, but it is big, in terms
of user base, and therefore must be mentioned in the top five.
They
do offer some services, such as voice messaging, not found at other dating
sites. You can leave a voice ad, in addition to your personal profile (and
hopefully a photo.)
We also rate dating services based on the
amount of email they send out, and Friendfinder rates somewhat poorly in
this category. You'll get more mail from them than anyone, and it isn't
always useful. No junk, but just more invitations to come back than you
would normally want.
You will probably like Udate,
or Kiss,
or even Match
a lot more, because they are just easier to use, and less invasive, but if
you are looking for singles close to home, and you don't live in a major
metropolitan area, you might want to join Friendfinder, just to
give yourself the best chance to find someone nearby.
